Audrey & Dave #Wedding Hallocksville 10/17/15

I left early to go setup the Hallocksville #wedding for two reasons. One, Last weekend there as alot of traffic because of the pumpkin picking, wine testing traffic and because it was my first time at the venue and i wanted to be sure I had time to get setup. I arrived around 3pm to be greeted by one of my friends Liz Cantwell. Liz works for Rumba Catering so i was very excited to eat some good food and be in the presence of my good friends. I had to spread my speakers out to cover and outside tent area and the inside barn. The evening provided a few challenges. It was windy and they had the ceremony outside. I had an idea of duct taping a microphone to an acoustic guitar so they could hear the guitarist. A brilliant idea that sounded great and allowed the ceremony to continue without a glitch. I also had a microphone so the bride was able to be heard. The charging station made it’s debut and was recieved with high praise. It was a great crowd and fun wedding. Weather was very cold in the barn toward the end of the night, i’ll be sure to bring some heat next time I visit. This is some of what i played . Unfortunately i lost hard drive access to my laptop the following morning. I played country, pop, motown, classic rock, current dance music and disco along with the music list that was provided for me. It’s not often that I make house calls to visit with clients however i made the exception and i’m really glad I did. They were very friendly and French and I could tell immediately that this was going to be a fun party to do and i was spot on. Start time got pushed back an hour due to some rain showers. I came prepared with my ez tent as I didn’t have to setup or clean up in the rain. It rained almost the entire party but the guests were committed to having a good time. I get nervous because i’ve seen parties die because of rain. The music was cranking , the drinks were flowing and people were there for the duration and I was really happy for Francois as he was really enjoying himself the entire time BIG SMILES We started off with some current pop. Birthday Party for Fadi Zaya Birthday parties are great in the summer time.I was really looking forward to this birthday party for multiple reasons. The kind of music, and people renting the house for the weekend. It’s usually a great combination for a great party and I knew it. When i found out that it was his 29th birthday i knew I was in for a great night. It took us awhile to decide where I was going to be but i settled on a place in the corner overlooking the pool and spa. Guests arrived and the bar was flowing and the music was cranking. Fadi provided me with a great selection of songs and I build the party pop, hip hop, rnb, house, electro, and dance music the entire night. I went back and forth between hip hop and house, and i was really in a great zone. I didn’t make a mistake all night. I felt confident with every music selection I played. I even got to drop a little old school bad boy from the 90s. It was such a great night. Friendly beautiful people liquor and music. It was really the perfect night. Back to do another fundraiser for our friend Joseph Holmes who had some unfortunate health problems related to renting a building for his business. When i heard the story I said yes immediately. Knowing what i know about the North Sea Fire Department and their extended community i knew that this was a cause i wanted to be involved with. This fundraiser is unlike any other. It’s twelve straight hours 6pm-6am. Luckily i have dj and friend Sam Santiago to help me get through the event. And even if you split it 50 50 six hours is still long a gig. So I would classify this as a dj marathon. It’s not just about Dj’ing as we both have to be sound engineers and at times the host the event. It’s for a good cause cancer research and i think they raised $56,000 dollars to help the cause and that’s just awesome. They decided to bring the event outside do to inclement weather that was on its way. I try to forget that i’m donating my time and try to concentrate on having fun and I had a blast. I was wearing goofy glasses and dancing around in my blanket. I tend not to get any rest during these things . I go all out and then recover the next couple days. This Halloween party was interesting. It’s been awhile since i got to play on Halloween but I was excited to get the late call to play this one. We played games with the kids who were all decked out there costumes. What was nice was if i wasn’t able to remember people’s names, I could just call out the costume. i got a late call to do a class reunion. This would be my first trip to B Smiths in Sag Harbor, so i dressed up a little bit. I’m glad I did. I arrived at the venue early just to make sure I was able to get setup before the event. I’m glad I did because guests arrived early and I wanted to be setup before. I was told to stay in the 70’s , 80s . We went a little off that path and to some current dance music. We had the whole floor dancing as you can see by the images and video below. The staff there was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The food was delicous. I hope to return back to the venue for more parties. I feel like the guests had an unbelievable time.
