I was scheduled to do a birthday party at the same time a Hurricane named Irene was on it’s way. Â This was the first hurricane to hit the area in some time.
Who cares this birthday party was gonna happen.
I’m so happy that people do not let the weather change their plans even in a hurricane. Â Â My brother Mark was born in a hurricane in 1986 and even though it was pouring rain and i really didn’t feel like going. Â I am so glad i went. Â i got to see my brother and deliver a stuffed cookie monster doll. Â i had a blast with my other brother Matt and nana as i waited for my brother’s arrival into the world. Â That was in 1986, so it’s 2011, about 25 years ago.
The American Legion in Port Jeff was a very small venue but we made it work for this birthday party.
We played all of the classic disco, classic rock, and oldies you can imagine. Then we started the kids games as we cranked the techno version of sesame street.We played Levitating Circle, Musical Chairs, and Mummy Wrap. The kids had a great time. We finished out the party with the  80’s and the latest dance music. I also got to play this new birthday song i just got by Dj Mozes Lil Jon Dj Hype Edit We also played one of the dangerous games of pinyata i’d ever seen. I thought someone was gonna get hurt . Tight quarters along with two guys standing on chairs with a big cardboard pinata on a broom stick No reported injuries
Always a pleasure to disc jockey for some nice people who don’t let the weather get in the way of the party.
The rain started alot later so they really made out
