12/10/11 Patchogue Knights of Columbus Christmas Party
i was really excited about this Christmas Party. The following weeks have been chaotic with the failing of my hard drive and the anxiety it’s caused. But i’m back, and i’m anxious to get back going.
This was my 1st christmas party so i was excited about bringing my christmas collection to the masses.
I gave myself just enough time to get set up and going for a 7pm start at the Knights of Columbus in Patchogue.Very small stage but i really like the light setup a couple of small led’s mounted in the ceiling set a great mood, and great light for me to see what i was doing. I played christmas music for the majority of the night. It was an older crowd so i went to oldies. I was surprised that people weren’t dancing to the oldies so i switched to disco.The place lit up like a christmas tree. I like it when people are happy and smiling and having a good time.My enthusisam is contagious and really made out for a great night.People were ready to dance within an hr and half in. We had two people jump on the mic and sing. I even jumped on the mic for a little “shoo doop shoobie do” on “In the Still of the nite”. The guy was old he didn’t know the difference. I got a few chuckles out of the crowd. We did some Electric Slide, and Cotton Eyed Joe also. I really wished i had thirty more minutes so i could have played some more current stuff but i just ran out of time and they didn’t want to go over I had a great time and i’m paying for it with what i call the dj hangover which seems to be lasting a little longer than usual. A good night sleep and i will be out at it again. Give me a call.I really know how to rock the holidays.
